WoW Netherdrake Mount Quest

Netherwing Reputation Guide

(Nether Drake)
The Netherwing reputation has one purpose right now and that purpose is the Nether Drake mount. The Nether Drake mount is one of the hardest and rarest to get flying mounts in the game (but not THE rarest or hardest). In order to obtain this nearly priceless mount you must embark on an epic series of solo and small group related quests. There is also a catch, many of the quests are repeatable but only once a day.
The Nether Drake (unarmored in our case, the armored one is an Arena award) is a 280% speed flying epic mount that is obtainable from a very long series of quests. Some quests require up to five players while most require just one. The quests, like many in Outland, increase your reputation with Netherwing by a good bit each time. Everytime your reputation levels up you get more quests to complete. However, as mentioned earlier, many of the repeatable quests can only be completed once a day
So if you're ready to embark on an epic quest in order to obtain a very rare item then suit up, get your best set of armor, and head out. There is a long grueling road ahead of you and lucky enough… we have all the information you need in order to travel it.

Setup - Get Ready
To start the questline you'll need to be playing on patch 2.1 or higher of World of Warcraft. Patch 2.1 was released for the US servers on May 22nd, 2007 so you should be good in that aspect. You'll need 300 in the riding skill (meaning you can already ride an epic flying mount).
To get started seek out a  "High Elf" (really a dragon) named Mordanai in the Netherwing Fields (Shadowmoon Valley). He starts the quest line. Those of you with the U.I. to show locs can find him at 59,58
Hated to Neutral

These quests are completed in order with none of them repeating for reputation. This gets you to the neutral reputation meaning that you'll be able to continue on with a few more difficult quests.
• Kindness: This quest is given by Mordenai and has you seeking out eight  "Rocknail Flayer Carcasses"  which drop from  "Rocknail Flayers" . Simply feed these to the Netherdrakes above (use it in your inventory and stand still). The " Rocknail Rippers" drop parts that you can combine into one Carcass if you so wish. Both are near to the quest giver.
• Seek Out Neltharaku: This quest is also given by Mordenai. He wishes for you to speak to Neltharaku who is located flying around 57,54 to 71,62. He will indeed be flying ABOVE you.
• Neltharaku's Tale: Given by Neltharaku… this quest simply has you talk to him about his story. I suggest reading it if you're into WoW's lore.
• Infiltrating Dragonmaw Fortress: Neltharaku asks you to kill 15 Dragonmaw Orcs. The following orcs work for this:Drake-Rider, Peon, Elite, Subjgator, Wrangler, Skybreaker. They are located in the south-east corner of Shadowmoon Valley around 69,59.
• To Netherwing Ledge!: Neltharaku has you collect 12  "Nethervine Crystal" s. These are found by flying all around Netherwing Ledge and collecting them.
• The Force of Neltharaku: You need to free 5 Netherdrakes from the Orcs in Dragonmaw Fortress. You can use the Enchanted Nethervine Crystal in order to free them, however, each drake is guarded by an Orc. You HAVE to help him kill the Orc or it won't be considered you freeing him.
• Karynaku: Time to find another person with a neat name, this time Karynaku. She is at 69,62
• Zuluhed the Whacked: Karynaku gives you a group quest to kill Zuluhed the Whacked. Accept the quest at the same time and move to 72,61 in Dragonmaw Fortress. You need five people to finish this quest. Tactics:
Zuluhed has a Rain of Fire which you should avoid. He'll spawn a demon portal in which you'll want your tank to move Zuluhed to the other room while the rest of the party follows continuing to DPS. If your good at it the Demon will spawn and not attack your party. Just keep the DPS up and he'll die. Loot the key, free Karynaku, and then speak to her for a free flight to the next quest npc which is…
• Ally of the Netherwing: Mordenai! You fly back to him and accept your rewards. You get 42,000 reputation with Netherwing (hooray). Time to move on…

The following is a detailed look at how to complete the various quests for the Netherwing faction!
Since we now start with daily quests we use the following format:
• A bullet shows that this is a daily quest. It's not really part of a chain, but it is instead a daily quest repetable once a day. Your quest log will show when you can complete it again.
1. A number indicates that this is part of a quest chain and isn't repetable (unless otherwise noted). These are completed in the order listed.

Neutral to Friendly
Now the fun begins. These quests were not enabled until patch 2.1 and begin the start of the heavy reputation grind.
A Little about Daily Quests
Daily quests are just that, daily. You can complete each one once a day. You can complete 10 daily quests in one day. Each quest gives 250 reputation meaning you can get a maximum of 2,500 reputation a day.
A Little about Enemies
Most enemies are located in the Netherwing Ledge and Shadowmoon Valley. Unless a quest tells you to head to a new zone you can pretty much assume the enemies are nearby.
1. In Service of the Illidari: This quest is simply, our friend Mordenai transforms you into a fel orc anytime you get close to Dragonmaw Fortress or Netherwing Ledge. Your mount also becomes a Netherdrake, although is ONLY around these areas. Head over to Netherwing Ledge and enter the base camp and speak with Overlord Mor’ghar.
2. Enter the Taskmaster: Given by Mor’ghar you simply seek out Taskmaster Varkule Dragonbreath who will be assigning your next set of quests
Taskmaster Varkule
• Nethercite Ore/Netherdust Pollen/Nethermine Flayer Hide: Collect Ore (Miners), Pollen (Herbalists), Flayer Hide (Skinning) and turn it in. Only one of these three may be done a day.
• Netherwing Crystals: Collected  "Netherwing Crystal"
Yarzil the Merc
Yarzil offers two quests that can be completed once daily along with an egg hunt that has no restriction. The eggs are fairly rare though.
• A Slow Death: You need to kill  "Netherskates” in order to obtain their  "Fel Gland”. Use them in your inventory to poison the mutton then poison 12 peon camps.
• The Not so Friendly Skies…: Collect ten "Netherwing Relic"s from "Dragonmaw Transporters" on the "Dragonmaw Skyway"
• The Great Netherwing Egg Hunt: You need one "Netherwing Egg" which drops from any monster on Netherwing Ledge. Item things such as ores drop it too. Becomes Accepting All Eggs after the first one.
Friendly to Honored
When you get to friendly you are given a trinket that summons a combat pet. The combat pet is useful in speeding up the earlier quests and can be summoned only while in Shadmoon Valley (at least until your reputation levels up). All previous quests are still available.
These quests DO give 350 reputation each but the previous ones still give 250. Meaning you can get more reputation before.
Taskmaster Varkule
1. Rise, Overseer!: Head back to Mor'ghor who gives you the [Overseer's Badge].
2. The Netherwing Mines: Varkule gives you a quest to seek out a Mistress of the Mines.
Mistress of the Mines
• Picking up the Pieces: Collect [Nethermine Cargo] from the mines.
Dragonmaw Foreman
• Dragons are the Least of Our Problems: Kill Nethermine Ravagers and Nethermine Flayers. Best to combo with Picking up the Pieces…

Murkblood Quest Line
1. Ronag the Slave Drive: Kill Crazed Murkblood Miners/Foreman for this one time quest.
2. The Great Murkblood Revolt: [Murkblood Escape Plans] lead you back to the mistress.
3. Seeker of Truth: Kill a Murkblood Overseer and return to the mistress

Chief Overseer Mudlump

1. Overseeing and You: Making the Right Choices: Collect 10 [Knothide Leather] and one [Hardened Hide of Tyrantus] from a Tyrantus in the Eco-Dojme Farfield. Return for your new daily.
• The Booterang: A Cure For the Common Worthless Peon: Use the [Booterang] on Peons to complete this quest. I can be used while mounted.
The following is a detailed look at how to complete the various quests for the Netherwing faction!
Honored to Revered
You get an upgrade to your trinket that allows you to summon the combat pet in ALL zones and you open up one more daily quest AND get a ton more one time completable quests to ramp up your reputation really well.
Taskmaster Varukle
1. Stand Tall, Captain!: Varukle has you see Mor'ghor again and then gives you the [Captain's Badge].
Mor'ghor
• Disrupting the Twilight Portal: Kill 20 Deathsadow Agents at the "The Twilight Ridge" which is located in Nagrand. This is the only new daily.

Reth'hedron the Subduer Quest Line
1. Seek out Illidari Lord Balthas and pick up "The Soul Cannon of Reth'hedron". Collect 2 [Felsteel Bar]s , 1 [Adamantite Frame], 1 [Khorium Power Core], and 1 [Flawless Arcane Essence]. The one thing you may have trouble with is the essence which is droped from Sar'this at the Lake Jorune in Terokkar Forest (near Stonebreaker Hold).
2. Subduing the Subduer: Head out to Twilight Ridge in Nagrand and drain the life of Reth'hedron with the cannon you made earlier.

Flying Mount Racing Quests
1. Earning Your Wings…: Ja'y Nosilw wants you to race each of the riders outside of town. You basically mount up and fly behind them avoiding the things they throw at you (ranging from bombs to magic). Really simple, except for the last one. The quests give 500 rep each and the last one gives 1000. The quests are:
2. Dragonmaw Race: The Ballad of Oldie McOld: Murg "Oldie" Muckjaw
3. Dragonmaw Race: Trope the Filth-Belcher: Trope the Filfth-Belcher
4. Dragonmaw Race: Corlok the Vet: Corlok the Vet
5. Dragonmaw Race: Wing Commander Ichman: Wing Commander Ichman
6. Dragonmaw Race: Wing Commander Mulverick: Wing Commander Mulverick
7. Dragonmaw Race: Captain Skyshatter: Captain Skyshatter who after defeating him gives you a [Skybreaker Whip] which increases mount speed by 10% (trinket).

Revered to Exalted
Your trinket is upgraded again and you get one more daily quest that involves a group.
Taskmaster Varkule
1. Hail, Commander!: You are sent after Mor'ghor once more and this time you are given the [Commander's Badge] as another trinket upgrade.
Mor'ghor
1. Kill Them All!: You are given a [Dragonmaw Flare Gun] which then allows you to summon a group of dragons to attack the Scryer or Aldor base depending on who you are allied with. For Aldor you seek out the Aldors and for the Scryer you seek out the Scryer.
• The Deadliest Trap Ever Laid: Given by your side, you are given one elite NPC (the one you must defend) and a group dragons and have to defend them from other dragons who want to kill you. You'll want a few players with you. When you are finished you are given a medal to take back to Morghor who will then credit you the reputation.
From Revered to Exalted is a LONG time. This quest is very difficult, time consuming, and will take much patience to get through. If you have the courage to continue through then we wish you the best of luck in your journies.
