Hunter Epic Quest Guide

Some say it’s the hardest quest in the game, others say it’s ridiculously easy. But folks, everyone can do this, it only requires adequate preparation, skills, and patience.

What you need:
Mature Black Dragon Sinew (duh)
Ancient Petrified Leaf (duh)
For those people who are totally clueless, you need to turn in these 2 drops from Onyxia and Majordomo to the spirits of the petrified trees in northern Felwood.
Major Healing Potions
Major Mana Potions
Night Dragon (those handy things you harvest in Felwood, they restore both health and mana)
One Healthstone each fight, ask a warlock
Nature Protection Potions
Shadow Protection Potions
EZ-throw dynamite (engineers can bring stronger explosives)
Immolation Oil
Any buffs you can get, be it from items or other classes.
For those living under a rock, the quest consists of having to kill 4 demons. Solo. And by solo I mean no PET, yes NO PET, no other people helping, no healing no shields nothing. Why? Because the demons despawn if more then one person is on their aggro list. They also despawn after a time limit of about 15 minutes from my experience. It takes quite some time for them to respawn. Then again going alone isn’t that smart either. You’ll need some help, either for buffs or for clearing the area where you’ll be fighting the demon.
That’s that, now for the separate demons.
Artorius - Winterspring

Disguised as a Tauren, he roams in the northeast of Winterspring, east of Frostsaber rock.
Bring some friends if you can and clear the slope that leads to the road. Spawn him at the base of the slope, and kite him with Aspect of the Cheetah to the road. Always keep a distance of at least 30 yards, or else he turns you into a demon, gives you a terrible dot and you’ve lost.
Cast Serpent Sting every 4 seconds, as that’s his weakness, and occasionally throw in a low rank arcane shot so he doesn’t break aggro. Keep kiting him on the road, hope you don’t bump into a patrol of Furbolgs and by the time you reach the Everlook intersection he should be down.
One head, 3 more to go.
Klinfran – Burning Steppes

A lot of people seem to have problems with this one, saying he’s bugged, but he’s actually quite easy if you prepared well and know what to do. My tactic is to melee him, and right before he enrages pull out and cast a Scorpid sting to calm him down and go back into melee. If you get the rhythm down you shouldn’t lose any health and you’ll just need some Night Dragon’s Breath and Mana Potions. The best spot to spawn him is on the road. Again, bring friends, because other faction player can stir things up. Put down a Freezing Trap and pull him with aimed shot. When he’s frozen cast another aimed shot and slow him down with concussive. Kite him until he enrages for the first time, then cast Scorpid Sting and run into him, going into melee. Continue to melee him for about 8 seconds, keeping him wing clipped all the time, then pull out before he enrages so you can repeat Scorpid sting. One important thing to remember is to strafe, because it can be very nasty when you get dazed. It would be wise to have your pvp trinket equipped, and scatter shot can also be a life saver. If you get the rhythm down, it’s an easy, but long fight. Simone – Un’goro

This one has to be the easiest of the four. If you want to have it super easy, bring along another hunter so he can stand at the sideline with Aspect of The Wild on while you fight with Aspect of the Monkey. Get some buffs, have Healing Potions and a Healthstone ready and drink up a Nature Resistance Potion. Spawn her near the lake, put down a freezing trap for her pet, pull her with aimed and concussive shot and right before she enters the dead zone apply Viper Sting. This will silence her for 15 seconds, in which time you can easily melee her down with Raptor Strike and Mongoose. When the demon is dead, you can just Feign Death so you get rid of her pet. If you want to kill it after that, go ahead, but by my knowing it doesn’t drop anything satisfactory. With three demons down, it’s one to go.
Solenor – Silithus

Hardest part about this one is getting a clear spot to fight him and having enough resources. So bring along any guildies you can to clear the area while you fight. A priest is very welcome, because of the Shadow Protection buff. Get any buffs you can and have explosives and Oil of Immolation at the ready. Put down a Frost trap (not freezing, frost), because you need to “chill” out this dude. Pull him with Aimed Shot and when he runs into the trap, wing clip him. This completely immobilises him for 30 seconds. Get as far as you can and start pwning him with as much damage as you can. He will cast shadow spells on you for up to 800 damage, and spawns bugs who will slowly close in on you and deal massive damage when they reach you, so use multi shot, volley, explosives and Oil of Immolation to get rid of them. When he breaks free of his immobilisation just wing clip him again. You’ll probably need a load of Night Dragon’s Breath and a Healthstone if possible. Don’t use Major Healing Pots but take additional Shadow Protection Pots when the first one has worn out. After quite a hectic battle you should have your last demon down. Go back to Felwood, turn in the quest and congratulations! You have earned the Staff and Bow of the Ancient Keepers. Don’t forget to talk to the tree a second time so you get both.
